Biografia
Raised by Italian immigrants in Toronto, Canada, Songstress-Pop artist Clara Lofaro is turning heads across the globe. Fans describe her as “oozing Carole King with the defiance of Annie Lennox” and describe her songs as “the vulnerability of Laura Nyro laced in fun poppy tunes”.
Using her empowering vocals and songwriting as a vehicle to embrace our differences, Clara Lofaro is redefining what it means to be a pop singer and in-demand songwriter.
Anxious to sink her teeth into the New York City music scene, Clara completed her four year degree on scholarship at Berklee College of Music in less than three years. New York City’s energy and power were the perfect compliment for her pure talent and fierce drive. She has performed alongside Stevie Nicks, Edwin McCain, Kimberly Locke, and Jeffrey Gaines and was the vocalist in the Disney Super Bowl commercial singing, "When You Wish Upon a Star" featuring MVP players of the NFL team.
Clara’s ability to write hits, both for herself and others has proven successful again and again. American Idol finalist Erika Van Pelt released four of her songs, Maddy Ziegler (SIA) won Dance Moms to Clara’s passionate performance of, Send Me A Lifeline, and shows such as The Voice, The Tonight Show, Young & the Restless, American Idol and many more are using CL tunes as their backdrop. Vanity Fair Napkins chose Lofaro's single Just Smile (from her Self Titled LP) as the theme song for their Wipe On A Smile National Commercial Campaign. The commercial ran for four years.
A powerfully encouraging artist, her current six song EP PUSH features Billboard hit B2LU. Clara wrote the title track PUSH in a Brooklyn basement apartment while curled up in bed, on New Year’s Eve. It wasn't until she moved out of the basement, both figuratively and literally, that she was able to finish the song. "It's a hopeful call to the universe to pour it's encouraging light over me as I push away and toward it. I make a promise that I won't give up and long for that partner who won't either." Co-written with her long time collaborator and bassist, Jordan Scannella they break into what Lofaro calls "pillow pop" in his production with Joshua Sadlier-Brown.
Having teamed up with Berlin based Eleven Management on PUSH, she hopes to be touring Europe in 2017. Clara Lofaro thrives by bringing her courageous vulnerability to the polished pop arena. It’s a beautiful tone and message you don’t want to be without.
