Even in Blackouts acoustic (!?!) pop-punk assault by Erica Gallagher "I wanted to see if we could pull off straight acoustic in such a big hall -- I wanted to see if I could silence the room. It came close," says Even in Blackouts guitarist John "Jughead" Pierson of the band's performance at Chicago's Metro, which hundreds attended. Though some chatter resumed as the sweet-but-strong-voiced frontwoman Liz Eldredge broke out into a version of Yaz's '80s hit "Only You," most people looked with curiosity and fascination as the band's guitarists furiously strummed away at their acoustics. Even in Blackouts makes "unplugged" punk due in no small part to the band's chemistry.
