Hoffmaestro have always been more than just a band. Embodying the punk/DIY ethos from the start, the band, made up of two twin brothers and a handful of additional musicians, used to set up their own clubs in order to play shows to whatever crowd they could. Soon enough, the word spread and those clubs turned into festivals and those crowds went from a handful of local friends to nearly 20,000 people all over Europe. Released this past December via SideOneDummy Records (Gogol Bordello, The Gaslight Anthem, Flogging Molly), Hoffmaestro demonstrates the band’s musical versatility and adaptability, as well as their full-throttle, go-get-’em attitude and determination. It does cover a wide range of styles and genres, but at the same it’s incredibly and impressively cohesive. Bound as much by their spirit as their musical prowess, it’s an album that leaves no doubt as to who the band are, what they stand for and where their future should take them.
