Jodymoon tell their story with intensity en authenticity. A personal story about love, parting, growing an returning. The extraordinary thing about singer-pianist Digna Janssen and multi-instrumentalist Johan Smeets is that they manage to balance between deep emotion and an energetic live performance. Strings play a significant part on their albums as well as playing live, they create a special blend between singer/songwriter, folk, pop, classical with a touch of roots. Jodymoon feels like a chamber orchestra and although it's a quartet, the sound is rich and full. Johan jumps from guitar and dobro to percussion to piano with a striking ease. Violin and cello provide a thick carpet, supporting the compositions and Digna's powerful voice is dynamic, full of tone and soul. As a listener one has the feeling of being plunged in a warm soothing bath. Jodymoon have won the public's choice award of 'The Grand Price of NL', played a series of concerts in Canada last year, and have played as supporting act for Joan Armatrading, Damien Jurado, Tom McRae and others. In New York they collaborated several times with producer Bryce Goggin (Antony and the Johnsons, Joan As Police Woman).
