Johnny Lucas writes and performs fresh, anthemic songs which keep you singing through the dark times as well as the bright.
With influences ranging from 60s McCartney to his own stamp of Modern Brit Pop, Johnny's easy-to-relate-to, feel-good music will always leave you in a sunnier mood. Using multiple loop pedals and several different guitars, he entertains audiences completely solo while sounding like a full band.
2014 kicked of to an extremely productive start as Johnny performed at 30 UK Universities in only 14 days. The tour received coverage from over 30 different radio stations including BBC Radio 1 who featured him while he was on the road at De Montford University. This then led to more UK shows sharing the stage with the likes of, Clean Bandit, Foxes, Rizzle Kicks, Zane Lowe, Greg James and Ali Mcrae amongst many more.
Johnny's latest single, "Lilo" is gathering him even more momentum as it was played by Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 and also picked up a flattering review in the Independent. The song was broadcasted to over 100,000 listeners on the British Military Radio Station, BFBS, after he performed the single out in Afghanistan to the troops. The Lilo video, which was filmed at the Cannes Film Festival, is also getting 1000s of hits a month.
His latest 2014 EP is called, You Can Start Anywhere and has been toured around London and the UK at venues such as, Camden Barfly, Camden Jazz Cafe and The Borderline to mention a few. With plans to release another 2 EPs, Johnny intends to tour and gig relentlessly to promote his music throughout the summer before releasing his second album.
