Formed in 2007, Junior Battles was the unexpected offspring a successful off-off-Broadway musical version of Jaws (but really, Google it). Sam and Aaron took hours of harmonic practice and paired it with good buds and a mutual affection for the Alkaline Trio discography – seven years later and the only thing that’s changed is the guitar parts, which are slightly more complicated.
Rally comes three years after their full-length debut, Idle Ages – they toured it, killed their van, lost money and got more reliable jobs. Without intending to write another album, Rally came out of intermittent writing sessions for an EP that quickly turned into something bigger – the accidental result of enjoying hanging out with your friends and realizing you still have a lot you want to say.
