Smoota is a one-of-a-kind, one-man band of “hyper-sexed, sensual alt-soul grooves” (Time Out New York). Based in Brooklyn, NY, Smoota presents his slinky, pervy music with an unusual combination of sincerity, sensuality, and fun. His debut album Fetishes has been described as “an excellent example of how the libido sounds” (San Diego Reader) and "one of the year's most surprising records" (Other Music). A keyboardist and trombone player for art rock band TV On The Radio, Smoota has also made music with Run The Jewels, Sufjan Stevens, Aaron Neville, Steven Tyler, Spoon, Pretty Lights, Angelique Kidjo, Sharon Jones, Antibalas, and many others. His second album is due in early 2017.
