The story of the band started in 2004 in Naples (Italy). One hot evening, Spirit Soar, Oreste and Raphael met each other in a pub. Raphael and Oreste were drinking pints of beer, Spirit Soar ordered a cocktail and so decided to form a new band. After some days they decided to adopt the name "Starframes". At first Starframes were influenced by powerpop and the 00's indie scene. They put some demos out between 2004 and 2006, but many songs from that period would have been rejected. Starframes started to be influenced by the 60s garage and 70s psycho-rock and changed for good their sound and songwriting. During those years Starframes collected several gigs all over Italy. At the end of 2007 Oreste left the band and Marco took the place of him. During that period they were planning to record their debut album “Street Politics”, so they had to work hard to find a balance again. Starframes decided that the best way to get what they wanted to get was to finance by themselves the entire work. In April 2008 they started the recording sessions at Lava Lab in Boscotrecase, at the feet of the Vesuvio. The mixing ended at the end of May 2008. The next month Jon Astley (who had worked for artists such as The Who, Eric Clapton and George Harrison) mastered it at the Close To The Edge Studio in London. Christy Fry from the Mile High Music took an interest in the album. After some months he decided to release the album in 2009 in collusion with the band. Then Starframes extended their line-up. Pedro (bass and guitar player) and Zack (keyboarder) joined the band. “Street Politics” was released on the 1st of June 2009 for Mile High Music/Cargo Records on digital format. That week Starframes presented the album with three gigs in London. This was the first experience in England for Starframes. The band consisted of 6 people for a short period. Marco left the band for personal reasons during summer and Pedro became the official bass-player. After some months, the band and the label split up and the album was uploaded for free download on the official website. In April 2010 they recorded and published "Acoustic live sessions vol.1".
