TUMIDO ...., a duo-extraordinaire consisting of guitar and drums, has evolved from years of cooperation between the musicians Gigi (Christian) Gratt and Bernhard Breuer. Both of them ventured in various musical areas and styles, ranging from Jazz, Rock, HipHop to free improvisation, which had a strong impact on the musical versatility of TUMIDO and provided them with their own language and style of expression. They base their musical concept on constant grooves, which serve as a base for improvisation. Repetitive structures (often from live-sampled guitars) develop into beautiful stories, taking the listener on a wild ride from glitchy electronica to real rocking sounds. Towering layers of guitars and the use of trumpets and voice, accumulate to full-on pressure and a density of sound rather untypical for a duo. Add the funky-grooving drums and nobody will sit still any longer. ..... the best impro-rock of our latitude....Volksblatt ..... this should be listened to loud and possibly live, to make improvisation show it can build up pressure and be fun....
