Together with Jonny White, the duo has released two albums and a dozen EPs over the past five years. Now, they've announced that White is continuing the project on his own, with Glasgow also pursuing a solo career. They'll keep working together in a different capacity, however, with plans to launch a label called Social Experiment (named after White's party series) in the pipeline. "This kind of a project is like a creative marriage and after five years we just feel like there's more we need to do in other areas," says Glasgow. "Having already released a solo album, I have felt a strong need to follow that up and explore that side of my production. Art Department is in a great place and I'm not getting any younger, now is the time." White says: "Although we've grown and evolved with Art Department there is still a huge difference between that evolution as a project and being able to explore and develop as a solo artist. Kenny has nearly completed his own solo body of work, that I really believe in and he should by all means pursue those goals. Of course Art Department is not the same Art Department without Kenny, that is something that can not be duplicated. It will take a new shape. But this is an exciting new chapter for both of us as friends and artists."
