The Bleeding Flares are an Australian rock n roll band that formed in Melbourne’s inner west at the end of 2014. Described as raw and uncompromising, they take from the guitar sounds of late sixties Detroit and seventies Australia just as much as they take from the uncertainty of free jazz or the more deranged side of garage or country music. After releasing an EP in October of 2015 and touring Australia’s pub and club circuit extensively, the band all but broke up. For the next 18 months, revolving lineup in-tow, the band went on to play as many, often chaotic, live shows as they could and eventually in 2017 recorded their forthcoming debut album. First single “a real low time” was released earlier this year and a “thirsty boy” 7 inch with accompanying video, will be out shortly. This November, with a song in their hearts and a crooked smile on their faces, the band will head for Europe to continue the great rock n roll struggle.
